Coastalia

Coastalia is a coastal nation located on the eastern seaboard of the continent of Marelia. It comprises a mainland region and the Coral Archipelago, with a varied coastline, estuaries, and several large bays. The climate is temperate maritime, with mild winters and cool summers; rainfall is heaviest in spring.

Historically, Coastalia was inhabited by indigenous communities before European contact. It gained independence in 1872 after a period of colonial administration and underwent rapid industrialization in the early 20th century. In the late 20th century it transitioned to a constitutional democracy, strengthening democratic institutions and civil rights.

A network of ports, including the capital Port Azure and the commercial hub Seastill, supports international trade.

Demographically, the population is about 3.1 million. The official language is Coastalian, with minority languages spoken in coastal towns. Cultural life centers on maritime heritage, seafood cuisine, music, and regional festivals. Education is highly valued, with strong public schooling, vocational training, and access to higher education. Public health and welfare programs are designed to support broad social needs.
