Blusher

Blusher, also known as blush, is a cosmetic product applied to the cheeks to create a natural flush or to add warmth and subtle contour to the face. It is used to mimic the appearance of healthy blood flow and can brighten the complexion. Contemporary blusher comes in powder, cream, gel, or liquid formulations and in a range of shades from pinks and peaches to berry tones.

Powder blush is the most common form and blends easily with foundation. Cream and gel blushes offer more moisture and a dewy finish, and are often favored by those with dry skin. Application tools include a powder brush, a stippling brush, or fingertips for creams. The typical technique is to sweep the product onto the apples of the cheeks and blend upward toward the temple to avoid a defined line.

Shade selection is guided by skin tone and undertone. Lighter or cooler complexions usually suit pink or pink-leaning peach shades, while warmer undertones benefit from peach, apricot, or coral tones.
