Õpetamine is the act of guiding and facilitating learning, typically performed by a teacher or instructor in formal settings, but it can also occur informally. It involves planning lessons, presenting content, and shaping experiences that help learners acquire knowledge, skills, and understanding.

The term comes from the Estonian verb õpetama (to teach) and the noun form õpe referring to study or learning, with õpetamine denoting the process or act of teaching. As such, it is a central component of education systems and professional practice for educators.
