Trüülalumiinium, also known as pure aluminum or commercial pure aluminum, refers to aluminum metal with a very high degree of purity, typically exceeding 99.0%. It is characterized by its excellent corrosion resistance, good electrical and thermal conductivity, and high reflectivity. However, compared to aluminum alloys, trüülalumiinium has lower strength and hardness. Its formability is generally good, making it suitable for applications where mechanical strength is not a primary concern.

The production of trüülalumiinium primarily involves the Hall-Héroult process, which electrolytically refines bauxite ore into alumina, and then into molten aluminum. Further purification steps can be employed to achieve higher purity levels if required.

Trüülalumiinium finds application in various sectors due to its specific properties. It is commonly used in the manufacturing of food and beverage containers, such as aluminum foil and cans, owing to its non-reactivity with food. It is also utilized in electrical conductors, such as overhead power lines, where its conductivity is advantageous, and in architectural components like decorative trim and cladding where corrosion resistance is valued. Reflective surfaces in lighting and optical devices also benefit from its high reflectivity. While not used for structural components requiring high strength, its ease of fabrication and resistance to environmental degradation make it a valuable material in many everyday products.
