tippbil
A tip bil, or dump truck, is a motor vehicle designed to transport loose materials and unload them by tilting its cargo bed. The bed is hinged at the rear and raised by a hydraulically powered hoist, allowing the contents to slide out through a rear opening. Some models use side- or front-tipping mechanisms, but rear tipping is the most common arrangement. Materials are discharged by gravity once the bed reaches an angle sufficient to clear the load.
There are two main configurations. Rigid-frame dump trucks have a fixed cab and frame, while articulated dump
Common uses for tip bils include construction, mining, road work, and infrastructure projects, where they transport
Operation and safety considerations are essential. Operators require training, and on-site safety protocols govern loading, unloading,
History notes that dump trucks evolved from horse-drawn tipping wagons, with hydraulic tipping mechanisms becoming standard
