Snaggletooth is a term used to describe a tooth that protrudes abnormally from the mouth, often extending beyond the line of other teeth. This condition is most commonly associated with a canine tooth, also known as a "fang," but can occur with other types of teeth. The protrusion can be inward or outward, and its severity can vary greatly.

The causes of snaggletooth are typically rooted in genetics and the development of the jaw and teeth. Sometimes, teeth may not have enough space in the jaw to erupt in their correct position, leading to misalignment.
