Radioresponsiveness refers to the degree to which a tumor or other tissue reacts to radiation therapy. It is a critical factor in determining the success of radiation as a treatment modality. Tissues and tumors vary significantly in their intrinsic radioresponsiveness, influenced by a multitude of factors including the type of cell, its genetic makeup, the presence of oxygen, and its position within the tumor.
