Prosodiat is a term used to describe an interdisciplinary area concerned with the study of prosody—the rhythm, stress, intonation, tempo, and timing of speech—and its production, perception, and function. The term is not widely standardized and is considered a neologism in many linguistic and clinical circles. When used, prosodiat generally denotes an integrated approach that combines phonetics, psycholinguistics, sociolinguistics, and speech science to examine how prosodic patterns convey meaning, emotion, and discourse structure across languages and contexts.
