Nyomásérzékelők, or pressure sensors, are devices that convert a pressure input into an electrical signal. This pressure can be in various forms, such as gas, liquid, or even force applied to a surface. They are fundamental components in a wide range of applications across numerous industries.

The working principle of most pressure sensors involves a sensing element that deforms when subjected to pressure. This deformation is then translated into an electrical output. Common sensing technologies include piezoresistive, capacitive, piezoelectric, and strain gauge. Piezoresistive sensors utilize materials whose electrical resistance changes with applied pressure. Capacitive sensors measure the change in capacitance between two plates as pressure alters the distance between them. Piezoelectric sensors generate an electrical charge when subjected to mechanical stress. Strain gauge sensors rely on the change in electrical resistance of a wire or foil bonded to a diaphragm that deforms under pressure.

Pressure sensors are utilized in diverse fields. In automotive systems, they monitor tire pressure, engine oil pressure, and fuel pressure. In industrial automation, they are crucial for process control, monitoring fluid levels, and leak detection. Medical devices employ them for blood pressure monitoring, respiratory support, and infusion pumps. Consumer electronics also incorporate pressure sensors, for example, in smartphones to detect atmospheric pressure for altitude calculations or in smart home devices.

The selection of a pressure sensor depends on factors such as the required pressure range, accuracy, operating temperature, medium being measured, and environmental conditions. They are designed to withstand various pressures, from vacuum to extremely high levels, and to operate reliably in harsh environments.
