A mediátor is a neutral third party who helps disputing parties communicate and reach a voluntary agreement. The mediator does not decide the outcome; instead they facilitate dialogue, clarify interests, and help generate options while remaining impartial and confidential. Mediation is used in civil, family, workplace, community, and international contexts.
The mediator's role is to create a safe environment, establish ground rules, and keep discussions constructive.
Process: Typically there is an intake and agreement to mediate, a planning phase, joint session(s), and negotiations.
Qualifications: Requirements vary by country. Many jurisdictions require formal training (often 20–60 hours plus practicum) and
