The designation is non-specific and can cover initiatives aimed at discovering new therapies, improving diagnostic methods, evaluating health interventions, or training professionals.

Typically, a medicinprojekt has defined objectives, a defined timeline, and a governance structure that includes project leadership, an oversight committee, and compliance with ethical and regulatory requirements. Funding may come from public grants, private sponsors, or mixed sources.
