Levelers are devices designed to establish and preserve a horizontal orientation or a specified height for an object on an uneven base. They are used to level tables, machines, workbenches, mobile stages, trailers, and other equipment where precise leveling is important for performance, stability, and safety.

The most common form is adjustable leveling feet, which consist of a threaded stem with a foot or pad. Height is adjusted by turning the foot with a wrench or knob. Leveling pads or glide feet provide a larger contact surface for stability on soft or uneven floors. Leveling casters combine a caster wheel with an integrated leveling mechanism for mobility and adjustment. Hydraulic or pneumatic levelers use fluid or gas pressure to raise or lower equipment, with manual, hydraulic, or automatic self-leveling capabilities. Electronic self-leveling systems use sensors and actuators to maintain level under varying loads or during movement.

Applications range from manufacturing floors, labs, and machine tools to offices, homes, and portable structures. In industry, levelers help reduce vibration, protect tolerances, and improve safety. In residential or commercial settings, they compensate for uneven floors and protect flooring finishes. Large, heavy equipment and stage rigs employ higher-load hydraulic or mechanical levelers with torque or lock mechanisms to maintain position.

Installation generally involves mounting the leveling element to a base and adjusting height until a level reading is achieved, often with a bubble level or electronic inclinometer. Important considerations include load rating, base surface, travel range, and the presence of locks or protective pads to prevent unwanted movement or floor damage.
