Kuolemansyöjät, often translated as Death Eaters, are a fictional group of dark wizards and witches in the Harry Potter series created by J.K. Rowling. They are the primary antagonists and serve as the loyal followers of Lord Voldemort. Their ultimate goal is to achieve domination over the non-magical world, which they refer to as Muggles, and to establish a wizarding society where pure-blood wizards hold absolute power.

The Death Eaters are characterized by their dark robes and the prominent Death Eater mark, a skull with a serpent protruding from its mouth, which is magically branded onto the inner forearm of each member. This mark serves as a symbol of their allegiance and allows Voldemort to summon them instantly. They are known for their cruelty, their willingness to use the Unforgivable Curses, and their involvement in acts of terror, murder, and the persecution of Muggles and those deemed "blood traitors" or "mudbloods" (wizards or witches born to Muggle parents).
