Komplekteerimine is the process of assembling a complete set of parts or products from available components to meet a specific requirement, such as an order, a kit, or a finished item. In Estonian use, it is commonly employed in logistics and manufacturing contexts, often overlapping with or distinct from assembly (kokkupanek) and packaging.

The term covers several activities, including kitting (grouping components into a ready-to-use kit), and order picking and packing (selecting items for a customer order and preparing them for shipment). It can occur at various stages of the supply chain, from initial production to final fulfillment.

The typical process includes receiving a request, planning which items are needed, locating components in stock, pulling or assembling them, verifying accuracy, combining them into a kit or final product, performing quality checks, labeling, packing, and shipping.

Technology and methods: many operations use warehouse management systems, barcode or RFID scanning, and automation such as robotic pickers or conveyor systems to improve speed and accuracy. Variants include single- and multi-component kits, and kanban or just-in-time approaches to minimize stock.

Benefits and challenges: Komplekteerimine can reduce handling, improve lead times, and enhance inventory control, while presenting challenges such as high setup requirements, the need for precise process design, and the risk of mis-picks.
