Kolmebody is a term used in some design, philosophy, and human-computer interaction circles to describe a triadic model of embodiment and interaction. The word combines kolme, the Finnish word for three, with body to emphasize three coexisting dimensions rather than a single integrated form. The concept has appeared in online discussions and in niche academic and artistic writing since the late 2010s.

At its core, kolmebody posits three interrelated bodies: the physical body (material presence and sensorimotor states); the digital or virtual body (avatar, interface representation, data traces); and the social or affective body (emotions, social roles, communicative meaning). These dimensions interact to shape perception, action, and identity across contexts such as interaction design, games, and wearable technologies.

Applications of kolmebody include designing immersive experiences where hardware, software, and social affordances are co-optimized; in education for blended learning that accounts for bodily, virtual, and social engagement; and in research on human-robot interaction, where a robot can support all three bodies of a user.
