The head is narrow, with relatively large eyes for low-light vision, and venom is depicted as rear-fanged and primarily paralyzing to small vertebrates.

Habitat and ecology: The javulnake is said to inhabit humid tropical and subtropical forests in the fictional Javulan archipelago. It favors dense understory and high canopies, where it hunts lizards, birds, and small mammals. It is typically nocturnal and solitary, relying on ambush and agility on branches.
