Floortostanding is the action of moving from a position on the floor to a standing posture. In health and rehabilitation literature the term describes a functional mobility task used to assess lower-body strength, balance, and coordination. The concept is closely related to other floor-to-stand transfers and to more widely used sit-to-stand or rise-from-floor measures. The term is sometimes written floor-to-standing, but floortostanding is commonly used in discussions of functional mobility tasks.
