dragkroken
Dragkroken is the term used in Norwegian and Swedish for the tow hitch—the mechanical device mounted on a vehicle to tow a trailer or caravan. The dragkroken provides a connection point between the towing vehicle and the trailer, allowing the two to move as a unit. A typical dragkroken consists of a receiver attached to the vehicle, a hitch ball or similar coupling, and mounting hardware. Many systems include an electrical connector (commonly 7- or 13-pin) to power trailer lights, indicators, and braking systems. Hitches may be fixed, detachable, or removable, and may be integrated into the vehicle’s bumper or added as an aftermarket fitting. Different configurations support varying towing capacities and trailer types, from small utility trailers to larger caravans. A 50 mm hitch ball is a common European standard, while other markets use different sizes.
In use, the dragkroken must be matched to the trailer’s coupling and rated for the trailer’s gross
