Diskdisk is a modular disk storage platform designed to provide scalable, fault-tolerant storage for mid to large-scale environments. The term encompasses both the physical enclosure and the software stack that controls drive bays, interconnects, and data layout across multiple nodes. Diskdisk systems are intended for archival and active data workloads, combining high capacity with redundancy to meet reliability requirements in enterprises, data centers, and service providers.

A typical diskdisk configuration uses a cluster of storage nodes connected by high-speed interconnects. Each node hosts several hot-swappable drives and an intelligent controller that partners to maintain a distributed metadata layer, enabling consistent views of the data.
