d6s

D6s, or six-sided dice, are among the most common dice used in tabletop games and probability demonstrations. Each die is a cube with six faces, typically numbered from 1 to 6 either with pips (dots) or numerals. In many gaming contexts, a six-faced die is referred to as a d6.

The standard arrangement on most modern d6s places opposite faces so that their values sum to seven (1 opposite 6, 2 opposite 5, 3 opposite 4). This design helps ensure balance and predictability in manufacturing. Dice come in a range of materials, including plastic (the most common), resin, wood, metal, glass, and, in older or decorative sets, ivory or bone.
