Six-sided describes anything that has six sides. In geometry, a six-sided polygon is called a hexagon. A hexagon has six edges and six vertices. The sum of its interior angles is 720 degrees. In a regular hexagon, all sides and all interior angles are equal, with each interior angle measuring 120 degrees. A hexagon can be convex or concave, and the lengths of its sides may vary in irregular forms. The number of diagonals in a hexagon is nine.

Hexagons are notable for their efficiency in tiling. Regular hexagons tile the plane without gaps, a pattern seen in honeycombs and in many tiling designs. Hexagonal tilings are favored for their sixfold symmetry and compactness. Hexagons also appear in chemistry (for example, benzene rings), crystallography, and board games that use hex grids for movement.

Beyond polygons, six-sided objects are described as six-faced or six-sided polyhedra. The most familiar example is the cube, a six-faced hexahedron with square faces. Other six-faced polyhedra exist but are less common. In everyday language, six-sided is often used in reference to dice as well, where a standard die is a cube with six faces numbered one through six.
