In a cloudedge deployment, edge nodes such as gateways, micro data centers, or industrial PCs run workloads near sensors, devices, or user endpoints. Data can be preprocessed at the edge, with only relevant results or summarized data transmitted to the cloud, reducing latency and bandwidth requirements.
