Antidopingindsats is a term used to describe the organized set of activities aimed at preventing, detecting, and sanctioning the use of prohibited substances and methods in sport. It encompasses policy development, implementation, education, testing programs, results management, and enforcement across all levels of competition.

At the international level, the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) coordinates the global antidoping framework through the World Anti-Doping Code and a network of national anti-doping organizations (NADOs) and sports federations. National bodies adapt and enforce the Code within their jurisdictions, often in collaboration with sports unions, laboratories, and law enforcement.

A central feature of antidopingindsats is the testing program. This includes in-competition testing during events and out-of-competition testing at any time and place. Athletes may be required to provide whereabouts information to enable unannounced testing. Samples (urine or blood) are collected by certified Doping Control Officers, securely transported to WADA‑accredited laboratories, and analyzed for prohibited substances and methods. The chain of custody and data integrity are fundamental to the process.

When a violation is suspected, results management handles the review of findings, potential provisional suspensions, and, after due process, sanctions such as suspensions, fines, or disqualification. Therapeutic Use Exemptions (TUEs) allow exceptions for legitimate medical reasons under strict criteria.

Education, prevention, and research are also core components, aiming to inform athletes about risks and rules and to develop better detection methods, including the Athlete Biological Passport. Respect for athletes’ rights, privacy, and fair procedures remains a constant consideration throughout antidopingindsats.
