WiFia

WiFia (Wireless Information Fabric) is a proposed open standard intended to unify wireless connectivity and data exchange across devices and networks. It envisions a single control plane that can orchestrate multiple radio technologies—Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth, Zigbee, NFC, and cellular—so devices can discover, negotiate capabilities, and communicate with low latency and strong security. Security relies on device attestation, end‑to‑end encryption, and device- and region-scoped access controls. The framework supports both centralized management and decentralized, ad-hoc networks.

It promises faster device onboarding, seamless handover between networks, and unified policy enforcement.
