Wallmount

Wallmount refers to a bracket, bracket system, or mounting plate designed to be attached to a wall to support equipment or objects. Wallmounted installations are used to save space, improve ergonomics, reduce clutter, and provide optimal viewing angles for devices such as televisions, computer monitors, speakers, and projectors. Wall mounts can be fixed, tilting, or fully adjustable (articulating) to allow different viewing positions and reach.

Most commercial and consumer wall mounts conform to standardized interfaces, with the Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA) mounting interface being the most common for displays. Mounts are rated by weight capacity and by compatibility with display sizes, hole patterns, and wall construction. Materials are typically steel or aluminum with powder coatings, but more lightweight plastics are used for small accessories.

Installation considerations include wall structure, stud layout, and wall material. For wood stud walls, screws or lag bolts anchored into studs provide strong support; on brick or concrete, masonry anchors or toggle bolts are used. Proper alignment, level installation, and cable management are essential. Safety also requires ensuring the weight of the mounted object does not exceed the mount's rating and using appropriate mounting hardware for the wall type.

Applications range from home entertainment systems and computer setups to retail displays and public signage. Evolution of wall mounts has emphasized low-profile designs for televisions and elevation-adjustable arms for monitors, with many models offering integrated cable routing and quick-release features.
