Viille

Viille is a town and commune in Valoria, a coastal country in the northern Littoral region. It sits on the northern bank of the Verne River as it empties into the Marean Gulf. The municipality covers 18.2 square kilometers and had an estimated population of 12,400 in 2023. The terrain is flat to gently rolling, with a small harbor and intertidal zones along the river. The climate is temperate maritime, with mild winters and cool summers.

Viille’s history dates to the 12th century as a trading outpost. It evolved into a market town serving river traffic and, in the 19th century, into an industrial center for timber, milling, and ship repair. The 20th century brought diversification into light manufacturing and services, while the harbor remained the town’s economic backbone.

The economy centers on the port and fishing fleet, supported by ship repair, small-scale manufacturing, and services. Tourism is active around the historic core and waterfront. The town aims for sustainable growth and preserved heritage.

Transportation relies on Route 14 and a regional rail line; Viille Station connects to the capital and other towns. A local bus network serves neighborhoods and the harbor.
