Túlvadászás, often translated as overhunting or overexploitation, refers to the practice of hunting or harvesting wildlife populations at a rate that exceeds their ability to replenish themselves. This unsustainable removal of individuals can lead to significant declines in population numbers, and in severe cases, local or even global extinction. The phenomenon is driven by a variety of factors, including subsistence needs, commercial interests, and sport hunting.

The advent of more efficient hunting technologies, such as firearms and advanced trapping methods, has amplified the impact of human hunting pressure. This is particularly true when coupled with habitat loss and fragmentation, which further stress already vulnerable populations.
