Tämbrile
Tämbrile is a term with origins in Estonian folklore and rural traditions. It broadly refers to a type of woven mat or rug, often made from natural materials such as straw, reeds, or rushes. These mats served various practical purposes in households. Historically, tämbrile were commonly used for insulating floors, especially in older homes or outbuildings. They provided a warmer and softer surface underfoot compared to bare wood or packed earth.
Beyond their insulating qualities, tämbrile were also employed as decorative elements. Their natural textures and patterns
