Tutkimusyksikkö

Tutkimusyksikkö (Finnish for "research unit") is an organizational unit within universities, research institutes, or companies that concentrates research activity in a defined field. It aims to coordinate and conduct high-quality research, provide specialized infrastructure, and contribute to the host organization's strategic objectives. A tutkimusyksikkö is usually part of a faculty, institute, or corporate research unit and may be led by a director or head, with a steering group or advisory board guiding its work. Staff commonly includes researchers at different career stages, postdoctoral researchers, technicians, data specialists, and sometimes PhD students.
