Tiefstellung is a German automotive term referring to the practice of lowering a vehicle’s suspension to reduce its overall height. This modification is commonly performed on sports cars, luxury vehicles, and performance-oriented models to improve aesthetics, handling dynamics, and ground clearance. The term combines the German words *tief* (meaning "low") and *Stellung* (meaning "position" or "adjustment"), directly translating to "low position."

The primary purpose of Tiefstellung is to enhance the vehicle’s visual appeal by giving it a more aggressive, sporty stance. Lowering a car can also improve handling by reducing body roll and lowering the center of gravity, which may lead to better stability and cornering performance.
