Tärinävärähtelijät

Tärinävärähtelijät, also known as piezoelectric oscillators or crystal oscillators, are electronic components that use the piezoelectric effect to generate a precise electrical signal. The piezoelectric effect is the property of certain crystals, like quartz, to produce an electric charge when subjected to mechanical stress, and conversely, to deform mechanically when an electric field is applied.

In a tärinävärähtelijä, a precisely cut and shaped piece of piezoelectric crystal is placed between two electrodes.
