Stapesinto

Stapesinto is a rare and complex congenital malformation of the middle ear, characterized by the presence of an additional stapes (stirrup) within the middle ear. This condition is often associated with other anomalies, such as microtia (small ear), preauricular tags (skin tags near the ear), and facial clefts. The additional stapes can vary in size and position, and may be attached to the stapedial artery or the facial nerve.

The condition can be inherited in an autosomal dominant or recessive pattern, or it may occur sporadically.
