Servosüsteeme, often simply called servos, are closed-loop control systems that use feedback to achieve and maintain a desired output. The core principle involves continuously comparing the actual output of a system with the desired setpoint and making adjustments to minimize any error. This feedback mechanism is what distinguishes servos from simpler open-loop systems where the output is not monitored or corrected.

A typical servosüsteem consists of several key components. A sensor measures the current state of the system's output. This measurement is then fed into a controller, which compares it to the desired setpoint. Based on the difference, or error, the controller generates a command signal. This signal is sent to an actuator, which is responsible for physically altering the system's output to reduce the error. Common actuators include electric motors, hydraulic cylinders, or pneumatic pistons.

Servosüsteeme are ubiquitous in modern technology. In robotics, they are essential for precise joint control, allowing robots to perform complex movements. In automotive applications, power steering systems often employ servos to assist the driver. Aircraft use servos for flight control surfaces like ailerons and elevators, ensuring stability and maneuverability. Even in everyday devices like printers, servos are used to precisely position print heads. The effectiveness of a servosüsteem is often measured by its accuracy, responsiveness, and stability.
