Running costs include consumables such as ink or toner cartridges and paper. Routine maintenance may involve alignment checks, sensor cleaning, or firmware updates. Environmental considerations include cartridge recycling programs and energy‑efficient operation, with many manufacturers offering recycling and take‑back options.
