SIMbasierte is an adjective used in German to describe methods, analyses, or systems that are based on computer simulations. It is a shortened form of simulationsbasierte and appears in technical writing to distinguish simulation-driven work from empirical or analytical approaches. In practice, simbasierte Ansätze build and use computational models to represent real-world processes, generate data, and test hypotheses under varied conditions without requiring physical experiments.

Applications include engineering and product development for virtual prototyping, design optimization and performance prediction; risk analysis and reliability engineering through Monte Carlo simulations and scenario testing; and operations research and logistics for modeling supply chains and queuing processes. In healthcare, simbasierte Modelle simulate disease progression, treatment outcomes and resource allocation. In education and training, simulators provide immersive environments for skill development.

Methodology often comprises model construction, parameter estimation and calibration, validation against observed data, and verification of predictive capability. Experiments are run by varying inputs, and results are analyzed with sensitivity analysis and uncertainty quantification. The approach is frequently complemented by digital twins, dynamic models that are kept in near real time synchrony with physical systems.
