Reageerimaja

Reageerimaja is an Estonian term used to describe an on-site emergency response facility that functions as a temporary or mobile operations center for coordinating civil protection, rescue, and related services during incidents. Its primary purpose is to provide space and infrastructure for incident command, communications, planning, and logistics away from central offices.

A reageerimaja may take various forms, including modular buildings, prefabricated containers, converted vehicles, or tented shelters, all designed for rapid deployment and remote operation. Typical components include radio and data communication equipment, computers and mapping software, workstations for command staff, conference or briefing areas, storage for equipment, and basic medical or welfare facilities for responders.

Deployment is determined by the size and duration of an incident and may be used in contexts such as industrial accidents, natural disasters, large-scale search and rescue operations, and public events requiring coordinated security and response. Operational procedures often align with national incident command structures to enable coordination among local authorities, the Estonian Rescue Board (Päästeamet), police, and other agencies.
