Progressiveness
Progressiveness refers to the quality or doctrine of supporting or pursuing progress, reform, and change intended to improve social, political, or cultural life. In political discourse, progressiveness often denotes a stance that favors social justice, expanding civil and political rights, government intervention to address inequality, environmental protection, and evidence-based policymaking. The term is broad and can span liberal, social-democratic, and some reformist positions. Historically, progressivism emerged in the Enlightenment and was later associated with reform movements in the late 19th and early 20th centuries that sought to regulate industry, expand suffrage, and improve public institutions.
