Pressfitting
Pressfitting is a method of joining pipe using pre-fabricated fittings that are mechanically deformed by a press tool to form a watertight connection. In a typical copper, stainless steel, PEX, CPVC, or multilayer pipe system, a gasket or ferrule inside the fitting is compressed as the tool’s jaws crimp the joint, creating a seal without soldering, welding, or gluing. The joint is designed to be leak-tight once the correct jaws and press cycle are applied and verified.
The technique is widely used in residential and commercial plumbing, radiant heating, and other piping installations
Installation generally involves cutting the pipe square, deburring the end, inserting the pipe to the proper
Advantages include speed, cleanliness, and the absence of open flames or flux, making it suitable for confined
