Plasmaferfält is a term used to describe a field generated by a magnetized plasma that can interact with electric and magnetic fields to influence the motion of charged particles. It is not a standard technical term in mainstream plasma physics, but it is used in some Swedish-language discussions and in speculative or science‑fiction contexts to denote a region where plasma currents and embedded magnetic fields create a coherent, controllable field structure.

The mechanism relies on the collective behavior of ions and electrons in a plasma. Currents within the plasma and externally applied fields generate magnetic fields and electric potentials that organize into spatial patterns. The resulting plasmaferfält can deflect, slow, or trap charged particles, altering transport processes, energy exchange, and local density. Field strength and geometry depend on plasma density, temperature, current drive, and the presence of external magnetic shaping.
