Panamera

The Porsche Panamera is a full-size luxury four-door sedan produced by German automaker Porsche. Introduced in 2009, it was Porsche’s first four-door model and is designed to combine the performance typical of a sports car with the practicality of a four-seat passenger car. The Panamera is built at Porsche's Leipzig plant and has expanded to include multiple powertrains and body styles, notably the Sport Turismo wagon.

Design and engineering emphasize aerodynamics and chassis rigidity, with options for rear- or all-wheel drive and a choice of 4+1 seating in some configurations. The interior features premium materials, driver-focused controls, and the Porsche Communication Management system, with options for advanced driver-assistance technologies.

Powertrain options have evolved over time from gasoline V6 and V8 engines to plug-in hybrid variants. A dual-clutch eight-speed transmission channels power to the wheels. Hybrid versions combine a combustion engine with electric motors to deliver higher efficiency and the ability to drive short distances on electric power alone.

Generations and variants: the initial 970 series ran from 2009 to 2016. A second-generation 971 launched in 2016, with a longer wheelbase and updated styling, and the Sport Turismo body style introduced in 2017. A mid-cycle refresh in 2020 updated styling and technology, while the model line remains Porsche’s flagship sedan, competing with other high-end luxury sedans and premium sports sedans.
