Porsche AG is a German automobile manufacturer known for high-performance sports cars, sedans, and SUVs. The company was founded in 1931 by Ferdinand Porsche in Stuttgart as Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche GmbH, initially offering engineering and consulting services. In 1933, Porsche was involved in designing vehicles for others, including developments that led to the creation of the Volkswagen Beetle. The first car built under the Porsche name, the 356, appeared in 1948 and established the brand’s focus on lightweight, performance-oriented cars. The company gained worldwide recognition with the 911, introduced in 1964 and featuring a distinctive rear-engined layout and a long-running design lineage.
