PVClevyt

PVClevyt are flat sheets made from polyvinyl chloride (PVC). They are produced in rigid forms (PVC-U) and flexible forms (PVC-P, often with plasticizers), and they can be opaque, translucent, or clear. Typical sheet thickness ranges from a fraction of a millimeter to several millimeters for interior use, while thicker or reinforced variants exist for more demanding applications. Densities are around 1.3–1.45 g/cm3, and rigid sheets tend to be dimensionally stable, whereas flexible sheets offer higher impact absorption.

Manufacture and fabrication methods include extrusion and calendering for sheet production. Finished sheets can be cut, drilled, milled, or machined with standard woodworking tools. Joints for PVC-U sheets are commonly made by solvent cement welding or heat welding, and mechanical fixing is widely used in installations. Outdoor-grade PVC sheets often incorporate UV stabilizers to improve weather resistance.

Applications for PVClevyt span many sectors. They are widely used in indoor signage, point-of-sale displays, and advertising boards. In construction and interior fit-outs, they serve as wall and ceiling panels, partitions, and countertops. They are also used for waterproof linings, false ceilings, and various protective coverings. Clear and translucent grades are used for glazing, skylights, and protective barriers.

Properties and performance: PVC sheets resist moisture and many chemicals, are easy to clean, and are relatively low-cost. They can be sensitive to prolonged exposure to strong solvents and UV light, which can cause cracking or color changes without stabilizers. They are generally recyclable, though recycling options depend on local facilities and the presence of additives or stabilizers.Environmental considerations include production energy and chlorine content in the polymer.
