Oakbridge

Oakbridge is a town and civil parish in Greenvale County, Veridia. Located on the banks of the Oak River, it sits in the central lowlands and has a population of about 4,600 residents. The town acts as a local service center for surrounding rural communities.

Oakbridge was established in the late 18th century around a timber mill and river port. It grew in the 19th century with steam-powered industry and railway access, then diversified after World War II as manufacturing declined.

The town sits on relatively level terrain with surrounding farmland at an elevation of about 60 to 90 meters. The climate is temperate maritime, with mild summers and cool winters, and average annual rainfall around 850 millimeters.

The economy historically relied on timber and agriculture, but now includes light manufacturing, logistics, and services. Oakbridge hosts a small industrial park and a regional distribution center. It is connected by Highway 12, has regular bus service to nearby cities, and the nearest rail station is eight miles away; there is no commercial airport.

Oakbridge is governed by a town council within Greenvale District and has a parish council for local matters. Public services include a library, a primary school, and a community center.

The town contains Oakbridge Primary School and Oakbridge Community College, along with the public library. Cultural life centers on the annual Oakbridge Heritage Festival and local markets, with landmarks such as the Oakbridge Mill and Riverside Gallery.
