Muscicapa is a genus of passerine birds in the family Muscicapidae, part of the group commonly known as the Old World flycatchers. Historically, Muscicapa encompassed a broad array of “typical” flycatchers, but modern classifications based on molecular data have moved many species to other genera, leaving a smaller core of species in Muscicapa. Notable species associated with the genus include the Spotted Flycatcher (Muscicapa striata) and the Asian Brown Flycatcher (Muscicapa dauurica).
