Minimitzi

Minimitzi are a fictional, diminutive primate species commonly featured in fantasy literature and tabletop role-playing settings. They typically stand 40 to 70 centimeters tall and weigh 5 to 12 kilograms. Their bodies are covered in dense fur that ranges from tawny brown to slate gray, with large ears and long, prehensile tails that aid in arboreal navigation.

They inhabit temperate forests, shrublands, and hillside enclaves in various coastal and highland regions within their imagined world. Clans construct tree-dwelling villages using woven branches, bark, and salvaged materials, reflecting a skilled craftsmanship tradition.

Minimitzi live in tight-knit kin-based groups called clades. Social life centers on shared childcare, cooperative foraging, and mutual defense. Communication combines vocal calls, gestures, and a kin-linked resonance—a nonverbal, empathic connection described in lore as maintained within family lines.

Diet and tool use: they are omnivorous, consuming seeds, fruits, fungi, insects, and small vertebrates. They are adept at tool use, crafting simple baskets, scrapers, and small wooden containers; in some settings they engage in micromachining for fine crafts.

Reproduction and development: breeding is seasonal, with a gestation period around seven months. Most births yield a single offspring; twins are rare. Young minimitzi learn through imitation and play, remaining dependent on the clan for several years.
