Merevít

Merevít is a Hungarian verb meaning to stiffen or render rigid, usually by adding structural support or by transformation of a material’s properties. It derives from the adjective merev "rigid" with the causative suffix -ít. The related noun merevítés denotes the act or process of stiffening; a component designed for stiffening is a merevítő (stiffener or brace).

In engineering and construction, merevítés refers to methods and processes that increase stiffness and resistance to deformation. Techniques include adding braces, ribs, frames, webs, extruded profiles, or additional fasteners; using materials with higher modulus; and optimizing geometry to reduce buckling.
