Meetpanelen

Meetpanelen, literally meaning measurement panels in Dutch, are modular units designed to display, log, and analyze measurement signals from sensors. They are used in laboratories, industrial plants, and building management to provide a consolidated view of process variables such as temperature, pressure, flow, electrical parameters, and environmental readings. A typical meetpaneel combines several sensing channels with a display layer and a control interface, and may be mounted in a rack or enclosure. Some models are standalone, while others form part of a larger data acquisition or process-control system.

Construction often includes a backplane or chassis, plug-in measurement modules, front-panel labels, and a user interface such as an LCD or touchscreen. Inputs commonly support standard process signals such as 4-20 mA, thermocouples, RTDs, or digital signals; outputs may include relays, solid-state switches, or digital communications. Power supplies vary, with options for 24 VDC or higher; many units offer DIN-rail mounting for integration with automation hardware.

Communication interfaces vary and may include Ethernet, RS-485, USB, or CAN bus, enabling remote monitoring, data logging, and integration with building management systems or SCADA software. Data can be stored locally or transmitted to supervisory systems, and alarm conditions can trigger visual indicators or audible alarms.

Meetpanelen are used in process control, energy management, environmental monitoring, laboratory instrumentation, and product testing. They enable operators to monitor multiple process variables at a glance, compare trends, and respond to deviations quickly.

Quality meetpanelen adhere to electrical and safety standards appropriate to their market, and enclosures may have IP ratings to protect against dust and moisture. Maintenance involves calibration of sensors, firmware updates, and periodic validation of displays and alarms.
