Lydskærmningslydskærmning, also known as soundproofing, is the process of reducing or eliminating sound transmission through a structure or material. This can be achieved through various methods, including the use of sound-absorbing materials, sound-dampening materials, and the design of the structure itself.

Soundproofing is commonly used in construction to reduce noise levels in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings. It can also be applied to vehicles, aircraft, and other enclosed spaces to improve comfort and reduce noise pollution.

Soundproofing is an important consideration in many industries, including automotive, aerospace, and construction. It is also a key factor in the design of noise-reducing rooms, such as soundproof studios and anechoic chambers, which are used for recording, testing, and research purposes.
