Laststyrt
Laststyrt is a Norwegian term used to describe a failure mode in which a load shifts or a load carrier loses stability, causing tilting, collapse, or rollover. The word is formed from last (load) and styrt (collapse or topple). In professional contexts, laststyrt may refer to incidents in road transport, maritime handling, rail freight, or construction when improper securing, distribution, or dynamic forces lead to an abrupt change in center of gravity.
Causes of laststyrt include poorly secured cargo, uneven stacking, high center of gravity of equipment or loads,
Prevention focuses on proper load securing and distribution, routine checks of restraints and containment, and training
