Laminaatpõrand, commonly referred to as laminate flooring, is a multi-layered synthetic flooring product fused together with a lamination process. The core of laminate flooring is typically a dense fiberboard, either high-density fiberboard (HDF) or medium-density fiberboard (MDF). Above this core is a decorative layer, which is a high-resolution photograph of wood, stone, or other textures. This image is protected by a transparent, wear-resistant layer, often made of melamine-infused paper. The underside of the flooring plank usually features a moisture-resistant backing layer.
